I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the requirements of our school uniform and the adjustments made for the period of hot weather we are experiencing. As I’m sure you are aware, at Ormsiton Endeavour, we believe that smart uniform is essential in preparing our young people for life beyond the Academy and as such it is really important that this continues throughout the Summer Term. Blazers and ties should continue to be worn to school and in the corridors when moving from lesson to lesson. These areas are cool and away from bright sunlight and so this should not present an issue. However, once inside the classrooms, staff will be able to give permission for blazers to be removed if appropriate to the room and task. In this extreme heat, students will, of course, be encouraged to do so. Students may also remove their blazers at break and lunchtime once outside in the quad and field area and when sitting in the canteen.
I would also like to take the opportunity to remind you of the need to ensure all students are provided with a bottle of plain water in order to keep hydrated during lessons. Students will not be permitted to drink fizzy or other bottled drinks in lesson time. They can, of course, top up this water from the fountains at break and lunch.
I hope these reminders will ensure we all enjoy a sensible and safe end to what has been an excellent year at Ormiston Endeavour.
