Do new Year 7 students get lockers?

Yes, we have sufficient brand new lockers in the new Academy building to ensure all students in year 7 can be allocated one. They are all operated on padlocks which students provide and are responsible for.

Which languages will Year 7 students study?

All students study either French or Spanish in year 7. Classes are assigned to on of these two languages and if there is a specific reason why a student should follow either French or Spanish then these are taken into consideration. We also support students who speak other languages to receive suitable accreditation in those languages.

What are the uniform requirements?

We take a great deal of pride from how well presented our studetnts are. The main Academy uniform consists of; the Academy blazer, black straight-legged trousers, black shoes and a white shirt. The Academy tie is given to all new students on their first day. For PE students wear an Academy polo shirt, black shorts and suitable trainers. There are only two branded items (blazer and polo shirt) that we required all students to have, all other items can be sourced from a wide range of clothing outlets. Branded items are found on the PMG Website. For further details please visit our uniform page.

What are the arrangements for school meals?

We work closely with our catering providers to ensure that we provide a suitable range of healthy, nutritious and enticing hot meals and snacks for students. Where students haev specific dietary requirements we are bale to adapt ro meet these needs. All of our catering is now operated using a cashless system and parents can top up using Parentmail, as well as monitoring the spending using this online suystem.

How are we kept informed of Progress?

We always value working collaboratively with parents to ensure effective communication of student progress and putting in place shared approaches where improvements are identified. Each year group has 3 formal, calendared assessement weeks during the academic year. During these weeks students will undertake assessments in their subjects and these will be reported to parents using Go4Schools. The Go4Schools platform allows us to keep parents informed not only on the academic progress, but also attendance, rewards and any behaviour concerns. Where concerns are raised either at home or in school we endeavour to ensure suitable strategies are agreed and put in place to support students with their learning.
