Our Culture

Everyone within our Academy should have a shared view on the culture within which we operate.  To neither agree nor subscribe to our culture would be detrimental to the well-being of the community and the effectiveness of the Academy, therefore it is important that we are open and transparent about what is important to us.

We achieve excellence through our culture as we believe: 

• Challenges can quickly be turned into exciting possibilities, we believe in the culture of the possible
• Ideas are always valued and considered
• We all have the professional obligation to improve and seek opportunities to do so.
• We all make mistakes, and can learn from these

We build aspirations through our culture as we believe: 

• Every child has the potential to be amazing
• We are all champions for our students and the community we serve
• We are all teachers of literacy and numeracy and should model effective use of both
• Hard work is integral to improvement

We foster kindness through our culture as we believe: 

• Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect
• Positivity and collaboration underpin success; Constructive solutions are welcomed; Negativity is unhelpful
• When we face difficulties, actions (individual and collective) will help to ensure positive outcomes
• We value generosity of spirit, compassion and good humour
